How David Goggins Proves Obstacles Are Meant To Be Overcome

David Goggins, on the left, runs 135 miles through scorching Death Valley, Calif., during his second Badwater Ultramarathon in July 2007, when he finished third.

Yesterday, the 14th of October, David Goggins managed to shock me once again.

For the context of how hard that would seem, here’s a short summary of some of his insane accomplishments:

  • Lost 106lbs/48kg in 3months;
  • Held the “Most Pull-ups In 24 Hours” record with 4030;
  • Completed 2 Navy Seal Hell-Weeks;
  • Finished a 100-mile marathon, despite having broken both his feet with 30 miles to go;
  • And so much more I encourage you to research.

After sustaining countless injuries due to putting himself through all of the above, you wouldn’t really expect this 45-year-old man to ever be able to walk again, much less to do something similar.

Well, that’s where you and I would be wrong.

As of 14th of October, David Goggins completed a 240-mile marathon, lasting 63 hours and 2 minutes total, having to be assisted in mile 140 with, in his own words, “a fucked up ankle”, proving everyone wrong once again.

Now, this is by no means to show you what a great example David is and how you should go follow in his footsteps. Most likely you’d die and I would get sued.
